Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library have provided funding for Novelist Select which brings Novelist content to Mobile Public Library's online catalog. You'll see Suggested Readings, Author Read-alikes, Book discussion guides and more when you view your searches.

Novelist Plus - With information on over 250,000 fiction and readable nonfiction titles included, plus feature content including lists of award-winning books, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, Recommended Reads and more, NoveList Plus is a complete readers' resource. Use your library card number to log in.

Novelist Plus K-8 - an online database with fiction and nonfiction titles chosen specifically to support the school curriculum as well as the pleasure reading needs of students including BookTalks, Recommended Reads book lists, annotations, first chapter excerpts, as well as tools like Lexile scores and popularity ratings.

Joining the Friends of the Library is a great way to support the Library. Its easy too!

Just ask for an application at any branch or print it out and mail it in.
Memberships range from $30 for an Individual to $500 for a Partner.

Events including a Victorian tea, the Annual Gala Fundraiser featuring a noted author, the Annual Membership Meeting featuring a Southern Author, Student seminars and Writing contest
The Library Endowment Fund with the Mobile Community Foundation
Advocacy Programs with community leaders
